1. Introduction

Astro Mithra (“we”, “our”, or “us”), a product of TerraServe Astrotech, operates the Astro Mithra mobile application (package name com.astromithra.app) and website (https://astromithra.onrender.com). This Privacy Policy explains how we access, collect, use, store, and share personal information when you use our Vedic astrology services.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Name, email address, and password (when you create an account)
• Mobile number (optional, during registration)
• Date, time, and place of birth, and gender (to generate astrological charts)
• Saved birth profiles and notes you choose to store on the device
• Questions and chat messages you send to in-app expert consultations

Information collected automatically or with permission

• Approximate or precise location, only if you grant location permission, to calculate muhurta and local planetary positions
• Device type, operating system, and app version
• Crash logs and performance data

We do not collect payment card data. The app does not include in-app purchases.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and display your astrological charts, dashas, yogas, and related reports
• To provide muhurta (electional) timing using your location when you allow it
• To provide AI-powered expert consultations using your question and relevant chart context
• To create and secure your account (including OTP email verification)
• To improve reliability and respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. How We Share Information

We share data only as needed to run the app:

• AI providers (Groq, OpenRouter, Google Gemini): your consultation question and the chart context required to answer it. We do not sell this data to them for their own marketing.
• Hosting (Render): account and authentication data for sign-in.
• Google Play: app distribution, updates, and crash reports as provided by the platform.
• We may disclose information if required by law.

Birth charts you save stay on your device. They are not uploaded to a shared chart database.

5. Data Storage and Security

Chart and profile data are stored locally on your device. Account credentials for signed-in users are stored on servers hosted by Render (https://render.com). Data in transit is protected with HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Local chart data remains on the device until you delete those profiles or uninstall the app.
• Account data is kept while the account is active.
• To delete on-device data, remove saved charts in the app or uninstall Astro Mithra.
• To request deletion of an account, email us at the address below.

7. Location

Location permission is optional. If granted, it is used only to compute local astrological timing (for example muhurta). Location is not sold and is not used for advertising or tracking you across apps.

8. Children's Privacy

Astro Mithra is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised policy will be posted at this URL with an updated “Last updated” date.
